This e-book is all about a composition technique that utilizes modes of the major scale like Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian and so on, in a particular way to create remarkable sounding music that can be applied to any style.
By chaining sections of the same mode (for instance Lydian) but with another tonal centre creates an intense sound that we often hear in film scores. For this we use the modal trigger note that is the characteristic note of a mode.
This e-book will explain this powerful way of modulating through a common note modulation that has the potential to really stand out.
The sound can be heard in music of Vangelis, Steve Vai and progressive music, but is also present in music of other composers and music pieces, for instance in film scores.
