Improvising over modes can be challenging and may sometimes require a different approach than simply using modal scales.
Among the tools available is the minor 7 flat 5 (min7b5) arpeggio, often referred to as the “half-diminished” arpeggio. The dissonant and distinctive sound of this chord makes it especially suitable for improvising over modal harmony.
In this e-book, you will learn how to apply this arpeggio to the modes of the major scale: Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian, and Locrian.
Through practical and, above all, musical examples, you will discover the versatility of the half-diminished arpeggio and the rich sonic possibilities it can offer.
