Voice leading in its core is a linear way of thinking about independent melodies that ultimately form a harmonic framework. It describes the way how to minimise the movement from one harmonic entity to the other. To establish a smooth voicing between chords we need inversions of chords and different voicings of a chord.
Mick Goodrick created a complete almanac that functions as a comprehensive guide for chord voicing, covering all possible voice leads between all chords in any scale.
The almanac is a staple in Jazz guitar education.
This e-book describes the voice leads and explains how it could be used to your advantage.
and it might function as an introduction and explanation for study and beyond.

This was an excellent video and an excellent companion book. It approaches the material with notation and tab to explain the theory of triads and leading tone, and throughly explains that Goodrick only presented the framework of cycles as a way to “self-study” and discover. This was a great way to gain solid footing into some of the cycles and to hear samples. I thought it was great for the author to point into other resources as well.
excellent exercises to review your triads with a purpose instead of traditional scale harmonization.
just a great book to have
